How We Support Families

Cornerstone Franciscan Family Services provides holistic support to families in Baltimore County facing housing instability.

Our programs are designed to:

  • Keep families housed by preventing homelessness before it starts

  • Strengthen financial resilience through education and skill-building

  • Support long-term stability with individualized care and wraparound services

Through personalized case management, we meet families where they are, provide the tools they need, and help them move forward with dignity.

How We Help

Families participating in our programs have access to:

  • Eviction Prevention

    Connections to emergency assistance and rent relief resources.

  • Planning for Housing Stability

    Collaborative budgeting, accessing benefits, and long-term housing strategies.

  • Family Case Management

    Personalized support to help families set goals around housing, employment, and daily life.

  • Life Skills & Education

    Group and individual sessions focused on parenting, financial literacy, and household management.

  • Child & Youth Support

    Programs that help children improve school attendance, engagement, and well-being.

Community Schools Rental Assistance Program

Cornerstone Franciscan Family Services is a partner in the Community Schools Rental Assistance Program (CSRAP), funded by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development and the Baltimore County Department of Housing and Community Development.

This program provides limited financial assistance to families of students in Baltimore County’s community schools who are:

Struggling to pay 
past-due rent

Facing utility shut-offs

Experiencing homelessness or risk of eviction

In need of help with relocation costs 

(final rent, security deposit, or moving expenses)

The Community School Rental Assistance Program for Baltimore County opened on October 19th, 2026 at 9 AM EST.

Cornerstone is unable to accept additional applications at this time. Applications will reopen once current applications have been processed and capacity becomes available. A notice will be posted on our website at least one week before applications reopen. Please continue to check back for updates.

To be connected with an application, please contact the Community School Facilitator at your BCPS Community School, call Coordinated Entry at 410-887-8463 (option 1).

Those unable to access a referral via one of the above listed pathways can complete the application linked below.

Applications will be accepted based on the program’s capacity to process applications and available assistance. Once processing capacity is reached, applications will temporarily close. Applications will reopen when processing capacity becomes available and confirmation of additional assistance is received.

Please note: This application is specifically for the Community School Rental Assistance Program (CSRA). To be eligible, you must have a child enrolled in a Baltimore County Community School. Not all Baltimore County Public Schools are eligible community schools. Applications that do not meet the program’s eligibility requirements will not be processed. If you do not have a child attending a community school and are seeking rental assistance please reach out to Coordinated Entry at 410-887-8463 (option 1) to be screened and connected with other resources.
